Destination Imagination is an international, educational and extra-curricular program that encourages innovation, teamwork and creative problem solving.  Starting at the beginning of the school year, teams chose one of seven challenges to solve, which emphasize technology, science, fine arts, improvisational theater, engineering, or service learning. Teams compete at a regional tournament, usually in late February, and if they place first or second, they move on to state competition in mid-April.  If a team places first, second, or third at that tournament, they move on to international competition at the Global Finals tournament in late May.
