Girls’ Basketball
Basketball teaches important skills that are essential in life. As a part of a basketball team players learn about commitment, determination, leadership, self discipline, and teamwork. Waupaca girls basketball players represent their school, their community, and their families. They are role models to young students and an inspiration to many people. We will take our role in the community very seriously, and, for that reason, we will do our best to be successful.
We invite all 9-12 grade girls who are interested in basketball to join the team. The season begins in November and ends in early March.

Boys’ Basketball
All the boys in grades 9-12 who are interested in basketball are strongly encouraged to come out and become part of the Waupaca Comets Boys’ Basketball team. Basketball is a great opportunity for athletes to represent Waupaca High School and the Waupaca community and be part of something bigger than themselves. Our goal is for players to participate in basketball from 7th - 12th grade, progressing and improving every year; however, this is not a requirement. We invite all players interested to join the program. The season begins in November and continues through March. Freshmen, JV and Varsity games take place on the same nights and in the same location the majority of the season. Teams play 22 games per season in the regular season, and the varsity plays in the WIAA tournament. Freshmen may have fewer games dependent on how many levels the teams we play have. High school basketball is designed for the team to be successful, so we will work very hard to build that team mentality and pride among all players. Open gyms will be offered beginning in late October after fall sports end, leading up to the season to allow players to get in the gym and prepare for the season. #cometsbasketball
